Jeff has been associated with the Norristown, PA law firm of Fox and Fox Attorneys at Law, PC since it inception. He has substantial experience representing injured workers in all aspects of proceedings under the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act, including successful appeals to the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board and Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, including the following reported decisions where he successfully represented an injured worker in an appeal:
Brandywine Mazda Suzuki v. Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board (Richard Asman), 872 A.2d 253 (Pa. Cmwlth. 2005);
Gilbert Twyman v. Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board (Penn DOT), 720 A.2d 780 (Pa. Cmwlth. 1998);
Joseph Battiste v. Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board (Fox Chase Cancer Center), 660 A.2d 253 (Pa. Cmwlth. 1995);
In addition to representing injured workers in Workers’ Compensation proceedings, Jeff represents employers and employees in Unemployment Compensation claims including successful appeals to the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Board of Review.
Supplementing his busy practice in the labor and employment area, Jeff has had extensive experience representing debtors and creditors in commercial matters, mortgage foreclosures and bankruptcy proceedings, including successful appeals to the United States District Court. He also has represented numerous parties in personal injury and family law matters as well as probate and estate administration and Orphans’ Court litigation. He has also represented successful appellants in these areas including the following reported decisions:
Peter H. N. Kadel v. Mary Ellen McMonigle, 624 A.2d 1059 (Pa. Super. 1993), allocator denied 651 A.2d 539;
Homemakers Inc. v. Ellen Salamone and Leo F.Doyle, Trustee, 71 B.R. 69 (U.S. ED Pa. 1988).
Jeff resides in the Collegeville, PA area with his wife Lisa. They are the parents of Jeffrey V. Matteo, Jr., Diana C. Matteo, M.D., and Christina M. Matteo, and are the grandparents of Jeffrey V. Matteo, III.
Jeff is certified as a specialist in the practice of Workers’ Compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s section on Workers’ Compensation law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Jeff has also been selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers and Philadelphia Magazines for 2013 and 2014 in the area of Workers’ Compensation.
Jeff has been named as a Five Star Wealth Manager in the area of wills by Philadelphia Magazine in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Jeff is a 1976 graduate of St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, and where he was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society, and Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. Jeff received his Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1979.
